HCMC-based EloQ Communications joins The PRCA’s new Southeast Asia Network

EloQ Communications, an integrated marketing agency based in Ho Chi Minh City, has joined the Public Relations and Communications Association Southeast Asia (PRCA SEA), the Southeast Asian branch of the world’s largest PR professional body.

“PRCA Southeast Asia is new to the region, but we already have some great partner agencies that exemplify our values of integrity and professionalism” said Tara Munis, General Manager of PRCA SEA. “EloQ Communications has shown itself to be a worthy representative of what PR can and should look like in Vietnam and throughout Southeast Asia, and we are happy to have them onboard with us.”

Founded in the UK in 1969, the PRCA now represents over 30,000 practitioners in 66 countries around the world, with offices in the UK, Singapore, and Dubai. It also manages ICCO, the umbrella body for 41 PR associations around the world. The PRCA promotes all aspects of public relations and communications work, helping teams and individuals maximise the value they deliver to clients and organisations. The Association exists to raise standards in PR and communications, providing members with industry data, facilitating the sharing of communications best practice, and creating networking opportunities.

As a PRCA SEA member, EloQ Communications is automatically subscribed to the PRCA SEA Code of Conduct and required to observe the highest standards in the practice of Public Relations and Communications. The Code includes the Professional Charter, Public Affairs and Lobbying Code of Conduct, Health Public Relations and Communications Code of Conduct, and Arbitration and Disciplinary Procedures. Its commitment to following these means that EloQ Communications must deal fairly and honestly with fellow members and professionals, the Public Relations and Communications profession, other professions, suppliers, intermediaries, the media of communication, colleagues, and above all else the public.

PRCA members are required to be accurate and truthful in all communications with clients, colleagues, and the public. They are not allowed to engage in discriminatory or offensive conduct on the basis of gender, race, religion, or disability. In this way, PRCA membership acts a sign that an agency is trustworthy.

Based in Singapore, PRCA SEA is the global network’s Southeast Asian arm. In addition to building connections between Southeast Asian agencies and others around the world and aligning them under common standards, PRCA SEA also hosts paid and free events which tackle issues around Southeast Asia. The list of upcoming events is available on its site.

PRCA SEA provides member agencies with substantial discounts to all face-to-face and online training and qualifications. It also provides bespoke training focused on enhancing teamwork and effectiveness at member agencies. Free on-demand training is available for the first year of membership.

“We are excited to join the prestigious ranks of PRCA SEA members as their first Vietnam-based agency, and eager to prove our ability to uphold the organization’s high standards of quality and trustworthiness,” said Clāra Ly-Le, General Director of EloQ Communications.

EloQ Communications was known as Vero IMC Vietnam and headed by Ly-Le for three years before officially going independent under its new name at the start of 2019. The agency continues to specialize in working with overseas companies doing business in Vietnam, including such diverse clients as Rakuten Viber (Japan, Luxembourg), PropertyGuru (Singapore), Cargill (US), The Association of Boarding Schools (US), Merck (Germany), and Nok Air (Thailand). International clientele remains a major focus for EloQ, but the agency is also seeking to expand its connections throughout Asia in order to head more regional campaigns for both Vietnamese and foreign companies.

With the choice of its new name – pronounced ‘eh-lok’ and short for “eloquent,” which the Oxford English Dictionary defines as “giving a clear, strong message.” – EloQ emphasizes its goal of using superior communication skills and local market literacy to represent clients in a way that is both faithful to their branding and fluent in the local style.

“Vietnam is a challenging market for many companies,” Ly-Le says. “Besides the strong role of the government, we also have a unique history and culture that influences how people make consumer choices and which brands they prefer. Things like the cash-based economy, the Tet spending season, and the sudden rise of youth trends like social media and bubble tea shops are just a few examples of why foreign companies in this market need a guide they can trust to help navigate the cultural differences. EloQ is here to be that guide.”
