Summary
Mindfulness is the ability of being in the present moment by paying attention on purpose, non-judgmentally and with curiosity. It has been increasingly adopted in organisations in a secular way, preparing executives from the inside out, for greater responsibilities and complex relationships in a VUCA (volatile, uncertain, complex and ambiguous) world. It helps individuals gain perspective, cope with stress, make better decisions that are more aligned with personal values, and become more effective and authentic leaders.

Event Overview:

Join us for this 1/2 day workshop which will centre on developing well-being for participants in an experiential and psychological safe manner. Secular mindfulness practice will be an essential aspect of this workshop. Direct experience is emphasised as much as conceptual learning. Experiential learning will include formal and informal mindfulness practices, small group activities and discussions.

Research shows that when you’re not deliberately paying attention to something, your brain goes into default mode causing increased anxiety and poor communication. Mindfulness can help end this unproductive behaviour.

What to Expect from this Workshop
The fundamental understanding and appreciation of mindfulness lies in the actual experience. In this workshop, direct experience is emphasised as much as conceptual learning. Experiential learning will include formal and informal mindfulness practices, small group activities and discussions.

Mindful Inquiry – a conversation between the instructor and the participants following a formal practice forms one of the essential components of mindfulness training. This helps to elicit deep reflection and learning as participants process and internalise the experience of mindfulness, leading to enhanced self-awareness and sense of empowerment in personal well-being.
