PRCA appoints Barry Leggetter as International President

The Public Relations and Communications Association (PRCA) has appointed Barry Leggetter FPRCA as its first International President, as part of its plans to build on its position as the world’s largest PR professional body, and to move into new regions of the world.

Leggetter has spent more than 25 years in international public relations consultancy during which he was UK CEO for three global firms (Porter Novelli, FleishmanHillard, and GolinHarris), and was also International Chairman of Bite. He also held the role of CEO of AMEC, which he left after 11 years in December 2018. Leggetter was the winner of the 2018 PRCA Mark Mellor Award for Outstanding Contribution to the PR industry, and the AMEC Don Bartholomew Award for Outstanding Contribution to the Communications Measurement and Evaluation industry. He is a Fellow of the PRCA and the CIPR. Read more

The PRCA and PRWeek are pleased to announce that they are launching the 2018/19 Fast Track mentoring programme, now available across the UK, MENA, and Southeast Asia.

Fast Track is aimed at inspiring the next generation of PR and communications leaders to build their expertise and develop as professionals.

Fast Track is available to junior and senior practitioners alike. It is available to agency, in-house, and freelance practitioners, and is completely free of charge. The PRCA is running the programme in the UK; in the Middle East and Northern Africa, through PRCA MENA; and in Southeast Asia, through PRCA Southeast Asia. PRCA to launch new professional association in Southeast Asia

The Public Relations and Communications Association (PRCA) has announced the launch of PRCA Southeast Asia.

PRCA Southeast Asia will be the new professional membership association representing PR and communications consultancies, in-house communications teams, and individuals throughout the region.

PRCA Southeast Asia will be chaired by Singapore-based industry leader Lee Nugent MPRCA, Regional Director APAC, Text 100; and run by Tara Munis, who is relocating permanently from London to Singapore. The new organisation will draw on the PRCA’s considerable resources, and 49 years of experience representing the industry. Read more
