PRCA to Launch Covid-19 Taskforce to Support PR Industry

The Public Relations and Communications Association (PRCA) has announced plans to launch a Global Covid-19 Public Communications Taskforce in response to its Covid-19 Survey findings. This Taskforce will provide free practical support to practitioners around the world.

The U.K survey – which gathered the views of around 200 PR professionals – found more than a third of practitioners (33%) believed the industry was underprepared for the outbreak. Read more

PRCA launches Schools Outreach Programme to ‘inspire students from all backgrounds’

The PRCA has marked the launch of its Schools Outreach Programme by publishing a series of videos and a new magazine aimed at inspiring schools students to consider a career in PR.

Launched during National Careers Week, the campaign aims to broaden the industry’s talent pool by raising awareness of PR amongst students from all backgrounds aged 16 and over.

The #PRCAschools video series features a two minute explainer of public relations, as well as a series of informal interviews with PR professionals sharing their experiences and tips for aspiring practitioners. Read more

Finder Tool Empowers Agencies to Win New Business

 

The International Communication Consultancy Organisation (ICCO) has launched the ICCO Agency Finder (IAF), a new industry matchmaking tool allowing clients seeking communications expertise in a particular country to search by eighty different sector specialisms and service capabilities, as well as global location.

Only agencies that are members of their national or regional association, and are therefore ICCO members, are listed. This means they are ethically accountable to both their local Code of Conduct and ICCO’s Helsinki Declaration. Users can also filter by agencies that have passed their Communications Management Standard (CMS). Read more

Harold Burson 1921-2020

The PRCA is saddened to learn of the death of public relations pioneer Harold Burson.

Burson is widely recognised as one of the founding fathers of the PR industry, having begun his career in the 1940s and launched Burson-Marsteller in 1952. Read more
